What we offer

The YYC Nature & Education Centre offers a variety of programs and experiences. We have different themes and experiences available monthly for private encounters. Thinking of adding a reptile to your home? Prepare yourself with our pet classes – a deep dive into what it takes to care for these unique animals. We offer single day camps for PD Days and select holidays. Check out our programs for more information.

Who We Are

The YYC Nature & Education Centre is the latest endeavor from the team behind Calgary Reptile Parties. Since 2008 we have educated hundreds of thousands of people in person through birthday parties, school programs, libraries, events, fairs, and tours. Our focus is on messages of responsible pet ownership, conservation and understanding wildlife in our backyard and around the world. Our founder Jason Clevett was one of the stars of SCALED which aired in 195 countries on Animal Planet in 2018.

Unique Encounters

Our staff are dedicated to making each and every visit an enjoyable one. Each carries a passion for the animals in our care, and hope to spread that forward to you as you encounter, learn, and interact with our large collection of fauna. Every visit will be a unique experience to be cherished.

My 7 year old and I got the opportunity to attend a homeschool program and it was a fantastic experience for both my son and me. It was more hands on than expected (we got to hold and touch some of the animals) and my son learned a bundle of interesting facts. Jason is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenter. My child was way more engaged during his visit to the Nature Centre then he is going to the zoo. He’s eager to return during a season focused on snakes!

Getting up close with all the animals was an experience you won’t get anywhere else in Calgary. This was the first adults night and I can’t wait to see what else Jeremy and Jason have in store. Jason was able to tailor our time with a spectrum of animals, as well as avoiding phobias (no spiders). Great education and conversation. This gem needs to no longer be hidden!
